ROADS across the county have been blocked by fallen trees and power cables as winds pick up ahead of the arrival of Storm Eunice.

Traffic is being affected on the B2244 from Stream Lane to Ladybird Lane in Sedlescombe, Battle due to a fallen tree and fallen power cables.

There are reports the power lines were bought down by the fallen tree.

An AA traffic update: “Reports of slow traffic due to fallen tree and fallen power cables on B2244 from Stream Lane to Ladybird Lane."

The A275 near The Rainbow Pub in Cooksbridge, Lewes has also been partially blocked by a fallen tree.

Drivers are being advised to approach with care.

An AA traffic update said: “A275 partially blocked due to fallen tree on A275 near The Rainbow Pub. Traffic is coping well.”

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for “very strong and disruptive” winds which could cause widespread chaos, including a “good chance” of power cuts and disruption to transport services.

Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex are expected to be among the areas most affected by the storm.
