A MAN has been arrested after armed police were spotted at a block of flats.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Allfrey Road, Eastbourne, at 1.15pm on Saturday, February 19, following reports of concern for a mans welfare.
“Officers engaged with an individual inside a property before he left the building to enter police custody at 2.55pm,” a police spokesman said.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
“This is understood to be an isolated incident and there are no wider risks to the public,” the police spokesman added.
Pictures from the scene showed multiple police vehicles and armed police outside the block of flats.
The images also show police officers putting on armour and carrying shields, as well as a police dog and handler.
