FIREFIGHTERS have been spotted near a high street previously cordoned off amid fears scaffolding could come loose.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were photographed on Saxon Lane in Seaford at about 6.30pm on Tuesday, February 22.
Pictures show firefighters gathering near scaffolding, alongside a fire engine.
On Friday, February 18, Sussex Police shut Broad Street in Seaford with shops also closing on the high street.
People reported that part of the structure had come loose during Storm Eunice and claimed that it was moving because of the strong gusts.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) responded to reports of a loose ladder attached to the scaffolding area, adding the road remains closed for “public safety”.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said officers were there to support the fire service to “make a structure in Broad Street safe.”
The structure is on top of a row of shops, all of which had to close early.
The scaffolding on the Talland Parade site has been in the town for six years.
