AS RUSSIA'S unjustified invasion of Ukraine continues, we have spoken to many of those who have been affected by this abhorrent act.

From those seeking to get loved ones to safety across the border, people fearing for their loved ones as Ukrainian cities are bombed, to those refusing to leave in defiance, it is hard not to be touched by their stories of war, often plagued with grief and anguish.

This is not a war involving people from “a far away country of which we know nothing”, as Neville Chamberlain once said - these are our friends, colleagues and neighbours who are being affected by this.

Even if you may not personally know someone directly impacted by the war, we will all soon pay the price of Putin’s aggression through increased prices for groceries, energy and fuel.

As recent protests in Brighton and around the world show, no one wants this war other than those in power in Moscow - and we can only hope that the Russian people can throw off the shackles of their murderous and ruthless dictatorship and that peace can blossom once again.
