THE FATHER of Sabina Nessa’s murderer has slammed his son’s actions – stating that the victim “did not deserve this”.

Koci Selamaj drove from his home in Eastbourne to London to carry out a pre-medicated attack on the primary school teacher.

The 36-year-old admitted killing Sabina as she was walking to meet a friend in Kidbrooke, London, on September 17 last year.

Selamaj hid in a bush before chasing Sabina down and knocking her unconscious and bludgeoning her 34 times with a steel traffic sign.

Following his son’s admission, Bashkim Selamaj, 73, revealed he is “so sad” for the primary school teacher, 28.

“How could he hit a person he didn’t know at all 34 times? We are shocked to learn that, and we still cannot believe our son was involved in such a killing,” he told The Sun.

“Sabina was a human being, and this lady did not deserve this death.

“I have two daughters and I am so sad about all this.”

The killers father revealed that his son had dropped out of school at the age of 16.

“Koci was a very quiet, good boy who wouldn’t kill a fly. We had no problems with him as a boy,” he said.

“Koci used to play normal games with the other children outside our apartment.

“When we moved to Greece, he just wanted to get employed to make money to help our family. He had no particular interests – he just wanted to earn money. He started working aged 13.”

Selamaj, who is facing life behind bars with a minimum of 30 years, drove 70 miles from his home in Eastbourne prior for the murder.

He then stayed at Eastbourne's Grand Hotel after the attack.

CCTV footage captured the moment Selamaj overwhelmed Sabina by repeatedly striking her with a 2ft long weapon, before carrying her away unconscious.

It is alleged that Selamaj then strangled her in undergrowth in what was suspected to be a sexually-motivated attack.

Her body was found 24 hours later covered with grass near a community centre in the park.

Selamaj, from Eastbourne, was arrested and charged over her death days later.

At an Old Bailey hearing, Selamaj, an Albanian national, pleaded guilty to murder.
