AN ALBION defender out on loan has been named in the Serie A Team of the Week.

Leo Ostigard joined Genoa on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in January this year.

The 22-year-old, who had previously been out on loan at Stoke City, has since made six appearances for the Serie A side.

Ostigard played the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan on Friday, February 25.

As a result, the Norwegian defender was named in the Serie A Team of Week.

In the team, Ostigard features alongside Torino’s Cristian Ansaldi and Hellas Verona’s Davide Faraoni and Boško Šutalo in defence.

Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne and Juventus star Dušan Vlahović also feature in the team.

Ostigard signed for Albion in 2018, before enjoying loan spells at German side FC St. Pauli and English sides Coventry City and Stoke City.

He signed for Genoa on loan on 5 January, making his debut four days later in a 1–0 home loss against Spezia in the league, in what was his 100th club career appearance.

In an away fixture against Milan in the Coppa Italia on January 13, Ostigard scored his first ever domestic cup goal in a 3–1 after extra-time loss.

He came on as a substitute in the 0–0 away draw at Roma on February 5, where he was shown a straight red card on the 68th minute.
