WORLD Book Day has returned for 2022 with children across the county dressing up as their favourite literary characters.
Youngsters have been inspired to dress up as pictures from their favourite books, with siblings in costume as the Snail and the Whale, while other pupils dressed as Peppa Pig, the Cat in the Hat, Cinderella and the Mad Hatter.
The charity event is held annually across the UK on the first Thursday of every March to encourage young people to read more.
Whether you dedicate weeks to creating your child's costume or face a last-minute panic in the morning every time, World Book Day still promises a day of magic for many.
