A JEWELLERY  shop has announced it is to close.

TH Baker Jewellers in Brighton’s Churchill Square shopping centre is now holding a final sale.

The chain said it made the difficult decision to close the branch due to difficult trading conditions making it “impossible” to continue.

The shop, which has been operating in the city since 2000, has been in its current position in Churchill Square since 2013.

Store manager Lee Gardner said: “TH Baker is very well known as one of the premium jewellery retailers in the town and held in high regard by our customers.

“I’m sure that the sale will be very popular and is bound to attract customers not only from Brighton, but further afield too.

“Some of our longstanding customers will want to come along and say goodbye and there will definitely be some very satisfied shoppers who can make a once-in-a-lifetime purchase.”

The closing-down sale includes diamond rings, coloured stone pieces, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, discounted by 50 per cent.

It started on Saturday and will run for three weeks.

TH Baker was founded in 1888 as a family-owned business and has since established itself as a leading independent jeweller whilst still remaining within the family.

Its branch in Horsham will be the remaining Sussex location.
