THESE pictures show over 1,000 Albion fans who travelled 350 miles north for yesterday’s match against Newcastle United.
It was a chance for Eddie Howe to make it eight games unbeaten and take another step towards safety for the Magpies.
Albion started off the better side with Shane Duffy missing a header from three yards out.
But it would be the hosts who would take the lead, punishing Graham Potter’s side on the counter attack 12 minutes in with Ryan Fraser opening the scoring.
Albion were caught napping just two minutes later when Fabian Schär nodded in at the back post completely unmarked 14 minutes in.
It summarised Albion’s torrid recent form and proved a timely reminder how easy it is to get caught out in the Premier League, especially when your side is already struggling in poor form.
Joe Willock could have made it three in the last kick of the first half, but his shot hit the side netting.
Albion marginally improved in the second half with captain Lewis Dunk heading in from a Pascal Gross corner 55 minutes in to half the deficit.
But Albion would not be able to make their pressure count against a nervy-looking Newcastle side. The 2-1 defeat makes it four losses in a row, with just one goal scored in that time for Potter’s men.
Albion host Liverpool at 12.30 next Saturday on March 12. They then host Tottenham at 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 16.
