A 32-year-old man who used racist and abusive language and smashed the rear window of a taxi with his fist while passengers were in the back seat has been ordered to pay £500 in compensation.
Magistrates heard that Fabio Warren-Landucci, of Kingfisher House, Quarry Road, Kent, had been in Brighton for a night out on November 7 and prior to the incident had been assaulted.
After Landucci smashed the window of the taxi, the passengers left the vehicle while the driver followed him to York Place, Brighton, and also called 999.
On March 10, Brighton Magistrates Court heard Warren-Landucci shouted “F***ing n****er. F*** you p**i c***” at two white male police officers who later attended the incident.
He pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a vehicle to the value of £97, and also pleaded guilty to a further charge of using racially aggravated threatening words or behaviour.
Warren-Landucci was ordered to pay £497 in compensation, a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.
