CORONAVIRUS cases are on the rise again in the city.
Brighton and Hove City Council said the surge in cases is a “reminder to all of us that Covid is still in our community.”
In the seven days up to March 5, there were 1,561 confirmed new cases were confirmed.
This was up 12.6 per cent, equivalent to a weekly rate of 519.5 per 100,000 residents.
The rate is higher than the south east, which was 478.4 per 100,000 and higher than the rate for England, which was 369.7 per 100,000.

A council spokesman said: “We need to do what we can to stop any further spread.
“This includes continuing to test while it’s available and avoiding contact with others if you feel unwell, test positive or are a close contact.
Please think of others and take action to protect our families and communities – particularly those at the greatest risk of severe illness.”
People are being urged to continue testing, and to isolate while waiting for the results.
