A MAN has been arrested following an armed police response to an incident.
Armed officers attended the scene in Maple Gardens, Bognor at around 12pm, following reported threats as they negotiated the arrest of a man.
While there was no risk to the wider community, police did contain the scene.

A spokesman said: “We are currently responding to an incident in Maple Gardens, Bognor Regis.
“Negotiations for the arrest of a man are ongoing, and due to reported threats, armed officers have containment of the scene.
“There is no known risk to the wider community at this time.”
Arun police have since confirmed that the man has been arrested and is in custody.

The spokesman added: “We can confirm the earlier incident in Maple Gardens, Bognor Regis, has since been safely resolved.

Police have not issued any further information at this time.
