ALBION fans remained in good spirits yesterday, despite the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at the Amex.

Boss Graham Potter made five changes following their 2-1 loss at Newcastle.

Yves Bissouma, Neal Maupay, Alexis Mac Allister, Solly March and Joel Veltman were all brought into the team.

Albion started the game the better side and had a couple of chances to take the lead inside the first ten minutes.

Liverpool did start to get into the game with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz looking lively, however, they struggled to break down Potter's resilient defence.

Despite being much the better side for the opening portion of the game, it was Albion that fell behind in the 19th minute.

Speaking BT Sport after the game, Potter said: "We started really well, we were the better team on the front foot.

"The goal took the wind out of our sails a little bit, especially with the run we're on and them being Liverpool. Credit to the boys they stuck in there.

"1-0 at half-time we're still in the game. In the second half a couple of things didn't go our way with the penalty.

"We had chances to press and unsettle them, our response throughout the game was great, I thought we finished the game really well. I think against a team as strong as Liverpool we were not good enough."
