POLICE are still appealing for witnesses after a 13-year-old boy was hospitalised in a suspected stabbing.

Five people have been arrested in connection with the incident in Worthing town centre on Sunday afternoon.

A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital for treatment.

“This is believed to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the wider community,” a police spokesman said.

Officers urged the public to avoid the area while police responded, while an area near McDonald's in Liverpool Road, Worthing, was cordoned off.

Sussex Police have also reported a large presence, including officers carrying firearms.

Police are still appealing for information regarding the incident.

“We would urge anyone with information to contact us, quoting serial 874 of 13/03,” the spokesman added.
