PEOPLE are being given the chance to have their say on plans to “reimagine” three popular parks.

The consultation started yesterday for feedback on plans to “enhance” Homefield Park, Beach House Park and Denton Gardens which lead to East Beach in Worthing.

The proposals state that it aims to “serve all ages of the community” but also will “improve the area for the changing demographic of the town” which Worthing Borough Council said is young families.

Some of these ideas include a sensory garden, dedicated area for board games, a water play area, an adventure golf course, as well as a dog adventure park similar to the existing one in Hazelwick Park in Lancing.

A consultation event started yesterday and runs until Tuesday, April 19 for the three parks in Worthing.

Councillor Edward Crouch, Worthing Borough Council’s executive member for digital and environmental services, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine our parks and think about the needs of future generations.

"We’ve drawn up some initial ideas and now want to hear from our communities about what they think and what else they would like to see.

“Our vision is to create a green corridor to the sea that is filled with a range of activities to support our residents to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of being outdoors, and which places Worthing firmly on the map as a visitor destination for all ages”
