TWO people have been taken to hospital after a four-car crash on the A22.

Emergency services were called to Golden Jubilee Way in Eastbourne, at around 7.30 this morning.

Sussex Police confirmed two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following the collision, which involved an Audi, a Honda, a Lexus and a Citroen.

Drivers are being advised that the road remains closed southbound.

A spokesman for East Sussex Highways said: “Golden Jubilee Way, Eastbourne southbound carriageway is closed due to fluids on the road after a road traffic collision.

“Diversion via A27 Polegate Bypass, A2270 Eastbourne Road Willingdon, A2021 Kings Drive Eastbourne, A2280 Cross Levels Way and A22 Highfield Link.”

An AA traffic update said: “Road closed and delays due to crash investigation work on A22 Golden Jubilee Way Southbound Congestion to both sides on the A27”.
