A NATIONAL park could start to offer fresh farm produce after a town’s long-standing trader shut its doors.

South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) said it is “investigating the possibility” of offering more farm produce at its visitor centre in the Seven Sisters Country Park, near Seaford.

The news comes after the long-standing Dymock Farm shop in Chyngton Lane North, Seaford, closed its doors for the final time at the end of January due to the owners retiring after 40 years. The site has carried on as a working farm.

A spokesman for SDNPA said the new visitor centre by the A259, as well as a new “grab and go” food section, will sell a selection of products sourced from the surrounding area.

Although there are no “firm plans” for a farm shop yet, the authority said local produce will be available when the visitor centre opens in early summer.

The spokesman said: “Since becoming owners at Seven Sisters Country Park we’re developing a number of new offers for visitors.
