TWO Albion player have been called up to the England Under-21 squad.

Tariq Lamptey and Carl Rushworth have both been named in Lee Carsley's squad for England’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Andorra and Albania.

The Young Lions currently sit three points behind Group G leaders Czech Republic with two games in hand, as they bid to reach the finals in Romania and Georgia next summer.

Albion defender Lamptey made his debut for England Under-21s in September 2020 in a 2-1 win against Austria, having previously been capped at Under-18, 19 and 20.

The right wing-back has made 24 appearances for Graham Potter’s side this season.

Goalkeeper Rushworth has spent this season on loan at League Two side Walsall, making 39 appearances in all competitions.

The 20-year-old has yet to win a cap for England Under-21s.

He received his first Under-21s call-up in October as a replacement for Josh Griffiths.

England Under-21s will face Andorra at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium on Friday, March 25, before travelling to the Elbasan Arena to take on Albania on Tuesday, March 29.
