FIRE crews have been called to a large fire at a country estate.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFR) were called to Pippingford Park in Nutley, near Uckfield, at 1.25 this afternoon.
Firefighters from Crowborough, Uckfield, Heathfield and Seaford are in attendance with support from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesman for ESFRS said: “The fire is affecting six hectares of land and firefighters are using specialist equipment (flexpacks, water tenders and Landrovers with Hose Reels) to access and extinguish the fire.
“We have also received support from Sussex Police who are using their drone to locate the source of the fire. “We are urging everyone to please avoid the area.”
