A MAN was rescued from his car after a garage roof collapsed.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 8.00pm to a house in Saltdean Vale, Saltdean following reports of a garage collapse.
Firefighters from Brighton and Roedean attended together with Technical Rescue units from Battle and Lewes rescued the man who was trapped in his car.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to release him from the car unharmed.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called at 20:00 yesterday to attend a residential property on Saltdean Vale, Saltdean following reports of a garage collapse.
"Firefighters from Brighton and Roedean attended together with our Technical Rescue units from Battle and Lewes.
"One person was trapped in their car following the roof of the garage collapsing on them.
"Firefighters used specialist equipment to release one person from the car unharmed. Building Control were requested to attend."
