BURLESQUE dancer Dita Von Teese explored the Royal Pavilion in a guided tour of the former royal residence.
Dita had been in the city for two performances at the Brighton Dome as part of a UK tour, with the dancer told that the Pavilion was a must-visit attraction while in the city.
Accompanied by her entourage, she was said to have particularly liked the copper pots and pans of the palace’s kitchen, which she said were similar to what she has in her own home.
She also took a particular liking to some of the stuffed animals in the kitchen, including swans, as antique taxidermy features in some of the decor of her Tudor rival house in the Hollywood Hills.
CEO of the Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust Hedley Swain, who showed Dita around the Pavilion, said: “It was a huge treat for us to show Dita Von Teese around the Royal Pavilion with some of her crew.
“Dita was really interested in how the gorgeous interiors of the Royal Pavilion were designed under the guidance of George IV in the early 19th century to create a stylish, hedonistic pleasure palace.
“It was lovely to show Dita around our rooms and we hope they will inspire her future shows.”
