A MAN has been arrested after attempting to take a knuckle duster into an airport.
Gatwick Police said the man was arrested at Gatwick Airport on Wednesday, March 30, after attempting to take the weapon through security.
A spokesman for the force commended the joint effort between airport staff and the police.
“Another great bit of collaborative working between Gatwick Airport and Gatwick Police to arrest a man attempting to get through security with a knuckle duster,” the spokesman said.
Last month, a suspect was arrested at the airport while trying to flee the country following a serious assault involving weapons.
Police made the arrest at in the early hours of Sunday, February 13.
