PLANS for the King George VI Avenue, Hove known as Snakey Hill have not had a traffic assessment.

Surely we have seen the chaos on the A27 and King George VI Avenue in recent weeks?

800 homes, 2,000 plus people equals at least 1,600 cars, potentially.

It is obvious to anyone but an idiot, that there must be a road exit directly onto the A27 with a half mile extra entry lane to make it work.

Using the Dyke Road roundabout will lead to gridlock throughout Goldstone and Hangleton and probably Dyke Road too.

Such a huge construction will take at least six months.

At present, all construction lorries will have to use King George VI Avenue, so months of traffic hell for people in West Hove.

What comes first, staff in the infrastructure business on this site, or the residents?

If the latter, then there is a huge traffic issue for those coming and going onto the estate, as they will have jobs outside the estate.

As petrol and diesel car sales cease in just eight years time, it is unlikely that a petrol station will be on site, so huge pressure on the Hangleton petrol station, probably gridlock as well.

I assume that any children would go to existing schools until the one on the estate has enough applications and indeed has staff.

Just 40 per cent will be affordable homes.

All that disruption and pollution and 60 per cent of the houses are not affordable to local people and the 40 per cent are open to everyone in the city, as well as to those outside.

Surely these should be council or housing association properties which favour local people for the sacrifice being called upon.

It is a huge loss of green lung for Hangleton and Goldstone.
