A DRIVER was charged with drink-driving after narrowly avoiding crashing into a house.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Station Road in Horsham at about 2am on Sunday, April 3.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a black Audi, came “very close” to making contact with the house.

On Sunday, a spokesman from Horsham Police said: “The driver of this vehicle which last night came very close to colliding with a house in Horsham has been charged today with drink driving and resisting arrest offences.”

Later that day, the A281 Brighton Road in Horsham was closed following a crash involving a motorbike.

Police said the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries not initially assessed as serious.

On Saturday, a woman was taken to hospital after a crash on the A24 Worthing Road in Horsham.

The road was closed one hour while emergency services attended the incident.
