NEWCASTLE United are reportedly preparing a £20 million offer for Albion star Robert Sanchez.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Eddie Howe is planning a move for the 24-year-old goalkeeper, according to The Sun.

Current first-choice keeper Martin Dubravka could stay at the club, but Sanchez has been identified as a potential new number one option, according to reports.

Sanchez signed for Brighton and Hove Albion at the age of 15, before enjoying loan spells at Forest Green Rovers and Rochdale.

The keeper recently dropped out of the Spain squad for “personal reasons”, having previously been given the number one shirt following Manchester United keeper David De Gea's omission from the squad.

According to reports, Sanchez is among a number of goalkeeping options that Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is considering.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is the second-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea, is under consideration. As is Dean Henderson, who remains behind David de Gea in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Arsenal's Bernd Leno and West Brom's Sam Johnstone are also reportedly on Newcastle's shortlist.

Dubravka has kept 33 clean sheets in 118 league games for Newcastle since he joined the club in 2018.

Newcastle currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League table – two places and three points behind Albion.

Graham Potter’s side next face Arsenal on Saturday, April 9.
