Police received reports of ‘suspicious powder' on footpaths in the Worms Wood, Larksfield, Flansham and Middleton areas
POLICE have issued an update after a “suspicious powder” was found on a number of footpaths.
Arun Police said they have received several reports regarding the powder on footpaths around the Worms Wood, Larksfield, Flansham and Middleton areas in recent weeks.
“Having carried out enquiries we have spoken with a local running group who confirmed they have used the powder for a running trail.
“We appreciate that this may have caused concern within the community and wanted to reassure residents and those walking their dogs in the area that the powder used is biodegradable and non-toxic.
“We will request that in future signage is put up so as not to cause further alarm.”
