A BAND has begun their sell out tour after numerous postponements.

Brighton-formed rock duo Royal Blood will begin their North American tour in Toronto, Canada, on Monday, April 18.

In a post on social media, the band shared their excitement ahead of the 24 show tour.

“Our North American tour starts tomorrow in Toronto at History. SOLD OUT. Who’s coming?” the band said.

Earlier this month, Royal Blood were forced to postpone part of their European tour after frontman Mike Kerr tested positive for Covid-19.

Following the announcement, he said: “I’m heartbroken to write this, but despite being fully protected and taking precautions, I have tested positive for Covid following last night’s show at The O2 Arena.

“This morning, I’ve woken up to discover I have lost my voice. Unfortunately, this isn’t something I can ‘power through’. I currently cannot sing a single note. My voice is gone.

“I’m absolutely gutted.”

In March, the band, made up of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, were forced to cancel another leg of their European tour due to rising case numbers of Covid-19, while they also cancelled a show in Paris after a truck transporting their equipment was blockaded by protesters.

The duo also pulled out of performing at Park Live Festival in Moscow, Russia, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

While the band was formed in Brighton, Mike grew up in Worthing and Ben in Rustington.
