HAVING been allowed to open, although under very difficult circumstances for the past two years due to Covid, I imagine that Pells Pool manager Phil Ransley, is looking forward to the pool being open for its longest season ever (The Argus, April 18).

The various events that have been announced, including night swims, for the coming season will I am sure attract people from the local community and visitors to the town alike.

This will be the 160 year old pool's first restriction free opening for the first time in two years and I am pleased to see that the price ranges seem reasonable and affordable, especially in these difficult financial times, for those who care for a swim.

It is important, I think, that the prices are kept reasonable so that ordinary families can enjoy the pleasure of swimming in a safe and secure environment. I hope that being an outdoor pool, we get a good long hot summer so that the season can be enjoyed to the full by all.
