FOOTAGE taken on police bodycams shows the moment £400,000 of cocaine was found in a drug dealer's car.

It comes as Christopher Morris was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court after previously admitted possession of five kilos of cocaine with intent to supply, and money laundering.

He was stopped by specialist officers shortly after leaving his home in Glessing Road, Stone Cross, near Pevensey.

The 42-year-old was pulled over by officers form Sussex Police's specialist enforcement unit on December 15.

As they went to speak to Morris, who was alone in the car, they saw him turn behind him.

On looking in the rear passenger footwell they found a bag containing two smaller bags.

Inside one there were four one-kilo packs of cocaine with a potential street value of up to £400,000.

The other contained £40,000 in cash.

A video captured the moment officers took the bags full of drugs and cash from the car.

Officers then searched Morris' home where they found a further quantity of cocaine and several thousands pounds in cash.

Morris claimed to be carrying the cocaine and cash for drug dealers, claiming he was operating under duress.

However, he was unable to produce any evidence to support this.

Morris later admitted his guilt.

On April 11, he was sentenced to six years in prison.

The police interest in Morris does not end with this sentencing.

Expert police financial investigators are planning for further court action against him under the Proceeds of Crime Act, aiming for court orders to confiscate assets he gained from drug dealing.

A spokesman for the Sussex Police serious organised crime unit said; "This is another example of colleagues working together to disrupt drugs supply in our communities."

The Argus: Nadia BakundukizeNadia Bakundukize

Morris’ sentencing comes just ten days after a drug dealer who hid heroin and cocaine in her underwear was also jailed in East Sussex.

Nadia Bakundukize was arrested in Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, after she was spotted conducting two drug deals by plain-clothed police officers in May last year.

The 33-year-old was searched in custody and found to have 22 wraps of crack cocaine and five wraps of heroin hidden in her underwear.

Bakundukize, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to all offences and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.
