EMERGENCY services attended the scene of a crash which saw a vehicle come off the main road and onto a verge.

Fire, ambulance, police and highways officers attended the scene of the collision on Tuesday 19 at around 9pm on Madeira Drive at the junction with Dukes Mound, Brighton

One of the cars had come off the road and collided with the metal fencing on the side of the road, fire crews from Roedean pulled the vehicle back onto the main road. 

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “At 20:59, we were called to attend an RTC involving two vehicles on Dukes Mound, Brighton.

“Firefighters from Roedean attended. No persons were trapped.  

“Firefighters used a winch to pull a vehicle back from a verge and onto the main road.

“We left the scene at 22:03.”

Police said the road remained closed until 10.50pm and reported that people involved in incident sustained minor injuries.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Minor injury road traffic collision reported at Madeira Drive near junction with Dukes Mound, Brighton, 8.56pm.

"Fire, ambulance and highways also attended. Road closures in place until 10.49pm.”
