A TINY kitten found in a shed and an elderly, abandoned stray are looking for new homes.

Little Jane was just two weeks old when she was found sheltering in a shed with her mum and littermates in October.

She was rescued by the team at the Cats Protection’s National Cat Adoption Centre in Haywards Heath and found to have the fungal infection ringworm.

The adorable moggy needed months of care to get her fit, healthy and ready to be rehomed.

Jude, who rescuers believe to be around 15 years old, was found living on the streets with a large wound on his side.

He also had a painful eyelid condition that needed to be treated by vets at the adoption centre.

Karen Thompson , deputy manager of Cats Protection’s adoption centre said: “Jane and Jude’s stories go to show the wide range of cats in need that we take in at the centre. They are nearly 15 years apart in age, but both received the same dedication and care to get them fit and well so they can be rehomed to new owners.

“When Jude first came into the centre, he was in a very bad way, with a very painful injury and incredibly uncomfortable eyes. It’s always heartbreaking to see a cat in such pain, especially as he may have been suffering for a while until he was found. Since receiving his treatment, Jude has flourished into a friendly, affectionate and playful cat and it’s wonderful to see him so happy.

“Jane is now a fun-loving young cat, and thankfully her tough start in life has not affected her now she’s had treatment. It’ll be wonderful to see these two lovely cats go to new homes where we have no doubt they will become much-loved pets.

“Unfortunately, caring for cats like Jude and Jane is not cheap, and we rely on the generosity of the public to continue our work.”

The charity is asking animal lovers to support the centre’s work by purchasing a cat toy or care equipment from its Amazon wishlist, which can be found here
