HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a “loved” and “cheeky” boy who was found dead in a public park.
Messages of support have flooded in for Emily Pulman, whose son Jason was found dead in Hampden Park in Eastbourne on Tuesday night.
A Facebook post written by Emily announcing Jason’s death has been inundated with hundreds of well-wishers commenting and paying their respects.
Emily posted an emotional statement on Facebook expressing her gratitude to those who had sent messages of support.
She said: “I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. We are going to plan a memorial for Jason.
“His favourite place to be was on Hastings beach at night, so I’ll post more details after speaking to his friends and find the perfect spot to light candles for him.
“We will be starting to plan his funeral today, and I’ll post more information.
“I’m laying in bed posting this, feeling lost and numb. I don’t even know why I’m typing this.
“I don’t know what I’m meant to be doing, I just want him back.
“My cheeky boy that made so many people smile, all I can pray is that he is at peace now and he knows how much he is loved, because he was, more than I could have told him.”
Emily shared a post on social media early on Tuesday, asking people to help find Jason, who she says went missing at 9pm on Monday.
The post was shared more than 3,000 times and updated on by Emily on Wednesday morning, following the news of Jason’s death.
Jason’s family are planning a vigil on Hastings beach, which Emily says was his favourite place to visit.
Emergency services were called to Hampden Park, Eastbourne, on Tuesday, April 19 after a member of the public expressed their concerns for a teenager.
Sussex Police confirmed a 15-year-old was declared dead at the scene and the next of kin have been informed.
A spokesman for the force said: “There were no suspicious circumstances, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
