A MAN has been arrested for driving on his car rims while almost four times over the legal drink limit.

Sussex Roads Police were called to the village of Chilgrove at about 4.45pm on Thursday, April 21, following concerned calls from members of the public.

A passer-by thought the white vehicle had been involved in a crash as it was driving on the rims of his car, a Sussex Roads Police spokesman said.

“However, the driver was so drunk he was driving on the rim. The driver has blown 138. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.”

The man was taken into custody and the car has been recovered.
