A PRIMARY school has spent £50,000 on new gates to improve the safety of the school.
The new gates at Moulsecoomb Primary School are placed behind hedges to minimise their visual impact while aiming to ensure that all children are safe and secure in the school premises.
The school, which is run by The Pioneer Academy Trust, said the gates are part of a huge investment plan in the school by the trust.
The Pioneer Academy has already announced that the trust will be developing a brand-new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outside area at Moulsecoomb Primary.
The regenerated outdoor area is currently being designed and the plan is for it to be built during the summer holidays in 2022.
Lee Mason Ellis, CEO of The Pioneer Academy said: “I am so pleased with the new gates at Moulsecoomb.
"Here at The Pioneer Academy we are committed to providing all our pupils with learning environments that are safe, secure and visually appealing.
“There is more work taking place over the next few months at Moulsecoomb and I can’t wait for everyone to come back in September to see what we will have achieved over the summer holidays!”
Adam Sutton, headteacher of Moulsecoomb Primary School, said: “It’s great to see all the TPA investment really starting to make difference at Moulsecoomb.
“The school has always been well-loved, but the TLC it’s being shown by the trust is truly transforming the learning environment for the better.”
