A 62-YEAR-OLD member of staff at the University of Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of fraud by abuse of position and fraud by misrepresentation.
The man, from Lewes, has been released under investigation.
Police say they investigated after being made aware of allegations of serious fraud committed by a member of staff at the university.
A University of Brighton spokesperson said: “The university’s audit committee received a full report into the matter following an independent investigation and both our board of governors and the office for students have been assured by the University’s response.
“However, the criminal nature of investigations makes further comment inappropriate at this stage.”
