A PERSON has been hit by a train, a railway company has confirmed.
All railway lines between Worthing, Littlehampton and Barnham are blocked due to the incident.
A Southern Rail spokesman said: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Worthing and Littlehampton / Barnham.
“All lines are closed between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident.
“Trains which usually run between Worthing and Arundel, Barnham, Littlehampton and Angmering will be severely disrupted.
“We're working to put alternative arrangements in place, but we'd recommend delaying travelling until later today.”
Southern Rail said it expects the disruption to last until 2pm.
