NEWLY promoted clubs to the Premier League should follow Albion’s “blueprint”, says a former England international.

Jermaine Jenas praised Brighton and Hove Albion’s system on and off the field following their 3-0 win away with against Wolves.

Graham Potter’s side moved up to ninth in the table following the emphatic win at Molineux on Saturday afternoon – setting a club record Premier League points tally.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Jenas praised the club and said others should use Albion as an example on how to prepare for top-flight football.

"They were brilliant. They have been better than good of late as well. When you are looking at football clubs for a blueprint, they have come into this league, they have developed slowly and in the right way.

“Recruitment has been absolutely brilliant and this was another example of that, how they cut through Wolves time after time.

"At the moment, the team has the perfect blend of quality with pace and power, Danny Welbeck has added a bit more as well lately. They were just above and beyond anything that Wolves were bringing to the table.

"Brighton have got a top manager, top players and if a couple leave, you just feel that they are going to keep adding to this group of players and they are having a fantastic end to the season."

Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring with a first half penalty, having missed an earlier spot-kick.

Second half goals from Leandro Trossard and Yves Bissouma helped wrap up the victory for Brighton and Hove Albion.

After the game, manager Graham Potter said while the club has enjoyed some good away days this season, this one was “up there” with the best.

Albion moved within five points of Wolves as a result of the win.

They next face Manchester United at the Amex on Saturday, May 7, before a trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Sunday, May 15.
