A MAN has died after being hit by a train.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to East Worthing station at 4.56pm yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
All train lines were blocked between Worthing and Hove while paramedics attended the scene.
A BTP spokesman confirmed that a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A Southern Rail spokesman said: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Worthing and Hove.
“All lines were blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work dealt with the incident.”
