SUSSEX musician Maisie Peters has shared photos from behind-the-scenes of Ed Sheeran’s stadium tour.

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Steyning is supporting the Shape of You hitmaker on his European tour this summer.

So far, she has played several sold-out shows in Ireland, including three nights at Dublin’s Croke Park.

Maisie has been keeping her fans updated by sharing photos from the tour on her Instagram page.

The former pupil at Steyning Grammar School posted a snap of her taking a bow alongside her band at the end of her set in Dublin.

In a caption alongside the image, Maisie said she has gone from singing some of Ed’s biggest hits in her bedroom, to touring with her idol.

She said: “I used to murder Lego House in my bedroom when I was 15 and dream of going to see an Ed Sheeran show, and now I’m part of it.”

Ed and Maise will play a sold-out show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before heading to England to play five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium and four nights at Manchester Etihad Stadium.

Maisie is one of only a handful of acts signed to the chart-topping artist’s Gingerbread Man Records.

Her debut album, You Signed Up for This, went to number two in September, robbed of the top spot by the juggernaut release of Kanye West’s long-awaited Donda.

A deftly crafted collection of quirky, melodramatic pop, it was widely praised by critics and bolstered an already fanatic fanbase.

Ed last toured stadiums during his 2017-2019 Divide Tour, playing more than 250 shows to some seven million fans, with Divide becoming the most attended and highest-grossing tour of all time, breaking U2’s record.

The Mathematics Tour will see Ed play tracks from his forthcoming fifth album =, pronounced Equals, live for the first time and will feature a new production set-up with the musician performing in the round.

The tour’s official name is + – = ÷ x, in reference to his string of studio albums.

Ed shot to fame in 2011 with the launch of his chart-topping single The A Team.
