THESE photos show forensic teams at a railway station after a man was found with stab wounds.
Police were called to Falmer railway station at around 1.40am on Friday following reports of an assault.
A man was found with stab wounds and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
He was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
In pictures taken this morning, a masked forensics officer can be seen taking photos at the scene as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “An extensive search of the area was conducted but with no trace of the suspect.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately, quoting serial 82 of 06/05.”
Southern Rail closed the underpass between the station and the University of Sussex following the assault.
A spokesman for the rail operator said: “There will be no access to Sussex University from Falmer station this morning.
“This is due to the emergency services dealing with an earlier incident.”
People were urged to find alternative walking routes while emergency services worked at the scene.
The underpass has since reopened.
