COMEDY is the name of the game at the Brighton Fringe festival today.

With more than 700 shows and events, festivalgoers are spoilt for choice with cabaret, circus, dance, drama and drag shows.

Among the events being held today, Monday, are:

Ali Woods: Work in Progress

The up-and-coming comedian will be performing his debut stand-up set at Artista Downstairs in  Waterloo Street.

He has appeared on BBC Radio 4, TalkRadio, TalkSport and written on sketches for BBC Three.

Amazing Adventures of Her Majesty - Jubilee!

This show is an affectionate musical comedy about the world’s longest-serving monarch.

Carole Shaw is the show’s creator and star performer, which will be performed at The Walrus.

Sara Barron (Work in Progress)

Edinburgh Comedy Awards nominee and star of Live at the Apollo, Would I Lie to You and Frankie Boyle's New World Order, Sara Barron returns with an hour of stand-up.

Guilt, desire, smart sex, conception, rejection and wine in a can are all areas covered in the set, which will be performed at The Quadrant.

Sorry Not Sorry!

After a sell-out Camden Fringe festival, Clean Slate Comedy Stand-up Nights are coming to the Brighton Fringe.

They will feature competition winners and stars from TV, radio and the stand-up circuit.

The events will take place in the basement room at The Walrus.

Paraladosanjos: Wet and Dry

This show, which will take place at Brighton Spiegeltent, features bold, vibrant and physical theatre from Brazil.

It is also an international hit and winner of the Brighton Fringe International Bursary 2022.

It will be performed by Marcos Becker and Marilia Ennes, and directed by Fernando Villar, Idit Herman, Monica Alla, Raquel Scotti Hirson.
