THESE pictures show smoke billowing into the sky from a large agricultural fire.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to an agricultural fire in Holmbush Lane, Henfield in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Pictures taken by a drone show huge billows of smoke in the sky were visible from a distance, as well as the blaze itself.

The Argus:

Residents of the area were warned to keep their windows and doors closed while firefighters attended the scene.

Crews from Worthing were still in the area well into the morning as small “pockets” of fire were still present.

A spokesman for WSFR said: “We were called to an agricultural fire in Holmbush Lane, Henfield at 1.13am this morning.

“We’re still in attendance and as there may be smoke in the area, we are advising that residents nearby keep their windows and doors closed.

“A crew from Worthing Fire remains in attendance, pockets of fire are still present so it’s a watching brief currently.”
