GOATS on the loose were rescued from a country road this morning.

The herd was spotted in France Lane just north of the A27 near Worthing.

Surrey and Sussex Commercial Vehicle Unit (CVU) came across the goats shortly after 7am and led them to safety.

The goats caused minor disruption on the road but luckily none were hurt.

An officer said: “Not quite the subject matter our CVU normally deal with.

“But it appears they can add goat herding to the skill list.”

One person added: “They’re expert escape artists, good luck!”
