ONE lane was blocked on the A27 after a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
The incident happened around 9.30am this morning westbound on the A27 Falmer Hill near the Rottingdean junction.
There are more than three miles of queuing traffic stretching back to the Ashcombe Roundabout near Lewes.
It is unclear if there are any serious injuries at this stage.
There are severe delays of more than 40 minutes currently.
All lanes have now reopened but traffic is still clearing.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Police responded to a report of a collision on the A27, near Falmer, at around 8.30am on Wednesday, May 18.
"The outside lane in the eastbound direction was closed following the incident involving a car and a motorcycle.
"Paramedics treated minor injuries at the scene and the road was clear by around 11.10am.
"Anyone with information or dash cam footage can contact police via emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting serial 303 of 18/05."
