TWO people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving a digger.
Emergency services were called to the A283, north of the Old Cement Works, near Upper Beeding on Wednesday.
A pick-up trick towing a digger collided with a car, injuring three people.
Police confirmed two people were taken to hospital for treatment.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The road has been closed in both directions while the circumstances of the incident are investigated.
“Anybody who witnessed it or has any information which could help with enquiries is asked to contact collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting Operation Cloudy.”
