POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after vehicles were targeted by tyre extinguishing activists.

Brighton and Hove Police said they are aware the Tyre Extinguishers activist group is continuing to target SUVs and 4x4s in the city.

There were several reports of attacks overnight on May 9 and 10 in Denmark Villas, Montpelier Villas and in the Queen's Park area.

Police are appealing to anybody who lives in and around those areas to check video doorbell, CCTV and dashcam footage.

“If your vehicle is affected, then a leaflet will be left advising you why your tyres have been deflated,” a police spokeswoman said.

“Please get in touch if you think you have information to help our enquiries.

“If you become a victim, then please retain the leaflet, report it via 101 or online, quoting Operation Extinguisher and a PCSO will attend to take your report.

“We are following up all lines of enquiry and working hard to find those responsible and we appreciate the public's help so if you see anything suspicious or have any information, no matter how small, which may assist then please get in touch."

Earlier this month, police launched an investigation after hundreds of tyres were deflated by activists in a single night.
