THREE quarters of the homes for sale at a new housing development have now been bought.

Bellway Wessex is building 108 homes across two phases at Cathedral Park off Bognor Road in Chichester.

The site includes 71 for private sale and 37 affordable homes available for people through shared ownership or rent.

A total of 55 of the 71 private homes – a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses – have now been sold.

The development is creating a new residential community as part of the regeneration of the former industrial site, following the relocation of the Bartholomews agricultural feed business to a new site at Chichester Food Park.

Kim Caldwell, sales director for Bellway Wessex, said: “Demand has been consistent at Cathedral Park since the launch of the site in 2020, and we have welcomed a steady stream of local people who are looking to upsize into our spacious four-bedroom properties, as well as first-time buyers, who have been able to get o nto the property ladder.

“Almost all the homes released for sale in the first phase have now been reserved, and the homes in the second phase, based to the south of the site, are also selling quickly. We have sold 28 properties since the beginning of October, selling at least one property at this site every week.

“We are looking forward to selling the remaining properties at Cathedral Park and to welcoming yet more residents to what is already a vibrant and thriving community on site.”

There will also be areas of public open space and a children’s play area.
