AN INVESTIGATION has been launched following an industrial accident at a business park.

Emergency services were called to Wiston Business Park in London Road, Ashington at 1.20pm yesterday.

The air ambulance was spotted at the park along with several emergency vehicles, including paramedics and police also in attendance.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), a government agency response for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare, has launched an investigation.

Sussex Police say they are assisting with the investigation.

A spokesman for the force said: “Emergency services responded to an industrial accident at a business premises in London Road, Ashington, at 1.20pm on Saturday (May 21).

“Police are supporting an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into the incident.”

Footage taken yesterday showed the air ambulance leaving the scene.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) has been contacted for further comment.
