A NEW private members’ club has opened on the seafront.

Soho House’s new venue, Brighton Beach House in Madeira Drive, is the first to open in Sussex and overlooks Brighton beach near the Palace Pier.

Located in a Grade II-listed terrace, the new club features a curved stone-topped bar with sea views, a terrace pool, event spaces, and artwork taking inspiration from the seaside and nearby Art Deco architecture.

Speaking to The Argus in March, founder and chief executive of Soho House Nick Jones said: “So many of our existing members live in Brighton, so it seemed like a natural step to open a local House in the city.

“It is a brilliant place, full of progressive spirit that our members love.”

Those looking to enjoy some of the venue’s facilities will have to apply for membership for the international club, which can cost more than £200 a month, with a £500 one-off registration fee.

Construction of the club had faced delays after planning permission was granted in April 2016.

Founded in 1995, Soho House operates clubs across the world, including in the United States, Hong Kong, Germany, India and Italy.
