A NEW city centre gym is promising a new form of personal training, designed to be affordable to everyone.

WTF4 in St Peters Street, Brighton, runs small group training sessions with two instructors, each overseeing a group of four, offering people the closest experience to a personal training session for the cost of a group gym class.

Founded by Brighton-based trainers Iain Jackson and Mitch O’Grady, with more than 30 years of professional training experience between them, the gym aims to offer everyone the chance to achieve their fitness goals in a friendly and safe environment.

Mitch said: “I’d dreamt of opening a unique gym concept that offered affordable personal training for more than five years.

“When lockdown hit, I decided it was time to make this dream a reality. We secured the site in late 2020 and spent the next ten months building the gym, doing most of the work ourselves.

“By being completely hands-on, we’ve been able to create a bespoke gym that is uniquely suited to small group training that provides maximum results for our clients.”

Close supervision by the pair throughout each session allows them to share their skills and techniques in lifting weights to not only build clients' knowledge of key exercises and how to train but also to build their confidence.

Iain said: “Working as a trainer in Brighton for 15 years, I realised there was nothing in the local areas that catered for people who wanted measurable results from their fitness programme but couldn’t afford sessions with a personal trainer.

“I also wanted to create a space that felt welcoming and comfortable for everyone, no matter their current fitness level or goals, that enabled them to learn lifting techniques and build confidence.

“I feel that’s exactly what we’ve created at WTF4 and I can’t wait for people to try it and see.”

The gym also runs three boxing classes every week and runs a check-in session for members each month to monitor muscle measurements, weight, and range of movement to enable people to track their progress.
